LINDA HENSMAN
Mixed Media Artist
Originally a water colour artist, Linda now mainly paints with acrylic and inks using collage in many of her creations to provide texture and interest. Subjects include landscapes, animals and flowers using recycled materials, dry plants and a wide variety of items to provide a different natural element to her work.
LESLEY HESLOP
Mixed Media Artist
I studied art at Didsbury College of Education way back in the 1970’s. I work in a variety of media including pastel, pen, acrylic, coloured pencil, watercolour, charcoal and sometimes mixed media.
I enjoy drawing and painting things around me, including everyday objects, but I also like to draw and paint landscapes, animals and birds. I am a member of The Wallop Artists and Lynne Pugh’s art group. I work from my home in the Hampshire countryside.

STEPHEN JAMES GEE
Watercolour, pencil and pastel drawings and paintings
Born 1953 in a Derbyshire mining village. Had a keen interest in nature and art from an early age.
Studied ‘Art and Design’ at Mansfield College of Art in the 1970’s graduating with a 2-1 vocational diploma. Took up a position of Graphic Designer at a large advertising agency in Nottingham where I worked for several years before changing career and becoming a gamekeeper in the mid 80’s.
Now retired and living in Over Wallop, Hampshire with my wife Rowena.
MONICA WILSON
Jeweller
With a life-long passion for the environment and conservation, Monica draws inspiration from the textures, shapes and colours of nature in the local area. Designed and hand made by her using a broad range of silversmith techniques, her collection includes life-like silver bees perching on flowers or honeycomb, cast leaves and seeds such as oak and acorns, hand-made flowers, enamel butterflies and even chalk-stream inspired brooches.

ALTA EDWARDS
Painter
Working in a variety of mediums -, acrylic, pastels but mainly oils- I create paintings of the subjects that I have a connection with: vivid flowers, landscapes, birds and abstracts. My subjects are varied but all my work displays my distinctively bold signature style.
I enjoy creating miniature paintings, but my real passion is working with large canvasses, creating paintings that tend more towards abstraction which allows my inner child to come out and play.

SALLY TYLER
Painter
My inspiration comes from a sense of place, from the natural environment to the man made. I love to experiment with different materials and mark making tools and use watercolour, gouache and acrylic. Paintings often evolve naturally and develop a character of their own, becoming increasingly abstract through the build up of colour, texture and glaze.
TIM THORNTON
Ceramics
Tim has been producing ceramics for 8 years, and exhibits at a number of events around the country. His works are based around the vessel, some being functional tableware and others more decorative than functional. He has a particular emphasis on surfaces, whether that is in complex glazes or raw wood fired work.

LINDSAY MURRAY-TWINN
Oils, Acrylics, watercolour, drawing, Mixed media
Lindsay was brought up in India and Africa before her family returned to live in England. She taught art after training at art school in the 1960s. She learnt the discipline of drawing, composition and use of paint. She then travelled and taught extensively in the Far East, where the colours and intensity of light influenced her choice of palette.
Colour is very important to her, combined with the exciting variety of textures resulting from collage. Acrylic paints and inks allow her to build up layers of pattern and interacting vibrant colours so that the often heavily textured painting comes alive.
Drawing and sketching from life form a strong part of Lindsay’s approach to painting. Life drawing and attending classes help to keep her fresh and open to the excitement of the many new media products available to painters.
GEORGE GAMMER
Photographer
I started taking photographs six decades ago when in my early teens and it still seems magical to this day. For the last few years I have been working solely with analogue materials – large-format film and silver/gelatin prints. What is important to me is the physicality of a work mounted on a wall in a particular space.

LINDA BIRCHMORE
Painting, drawing and sculpture
I work in a number of different media and styles, painting, drawing and sculpture
I use oils, acrylics and watercolour. I also use graphite and coloured pencils.
I carve soapstone and take portrait commissions of both people and animals.
Colin Marett
Wood Turner
I am fascinated by wood and I have enjoyed this hobby experimenting with interesting wood, some with amazing features and special grains and effects. Often wood could end up on someone’s fire. I manage to make something special by enhancing these imperfections. I love bird watching and this lead me to craft them. I also make platters, bowls, apples and pears. One of my biggest challenges is making wooden teapots incorporating glass and pewter.

ANDREW DAVID CLARK
Fine Artist
Primarily an oil painter; my work hums of a wordless gnosis and speaks of ineffability.
Tacit faith flows across chapters of the work, echoed through subconscious through wistful layers of oil and fog.
Embodying ideas from Daoism and the Yi Jing, implied is motion inherent, toward and away from the known.
The Road Return drawn onward, through many atmospheres.
RUTH BARON EZRA
Graphite Drawings
Ruth creates finely worked graphite drawings. She loves to explore tonal ranges and contrasts of light pitched against dark, whilst bringing out a variety of textures and detail within her drawings.
Subjects range from the natural world to the scenic, and historic and modern buildings, often using cropped images and seen from unexpected viewpoints. Unusual juxtapositions can also feature, where old and new, past and present sit alongside one another.

MERIEL VAUGHAN
YASMIN FRENCH
Painter
Yasmin French is a contemporary British artist specialising in acrylic paintings of animals, landscapes, and scenes inspired by travel. Using acrylic paint, she explores colour and humour to create beautiful works of art. She is based in Hampshire, UK, but takes inspiration from travels across the world, taking photographs along the way.

GILLIAN PUGH
Pen and Wash Painter
I was born in Scotland and lived in Pakistan for some of my childhood and have been in Broughton since I was fourteen years old. I started to draw and paint with my family some years ago. I have found the west coast of Scotland very inspiring – something to do with the light that is unlike anywhere else. I seem to concentrate on the beauty of our landscape which I find irresistible.
Carla Vize-Martin
Artist – semi-abstract floral landscapes
Carla grew up in the New Forest. She has always been fascinated by nature’s vibrant palette, the rich variety of flora and fauna, and the subtle changes of light and texture.
Over the last ten years Carla has built her reputation as a leading floral and wildlife artist and illustrator.

SAMANTHA BOOT
Textile Artist and Quilt Maker
Using found and collected fabrics, Samantha creates textile pieces that are inspired by nature and the art of the storyteller. Working in an improv way, each piece is approached in a painterly style allowing the combination of fabric and thread to bind layers and add texture to these unique textile pieces.
Commissions welcome.
LISA JOHNSON
Jeweller
Lisa creates beautiful, unique pieces of jewellery for you to treasure and wear forever.
She takes her inspiration from nature and the countryside around her. She likes nothing more than capturing items such as acorns, star anise and shells in her work.
All her pieces are designed and handcrafted in her studio, using a mixture of silver clay and traditional silversmithing techniques.

JEREMY DRAKE
Artist
Local artist depicting local scenes around Broughton and Stockbridge. Accurate and detailed images in full colour in watercolour, oils and acrylic. Landscapes, street views, local buildings, wildlife and others.
WENDY HAWKSWOOD
Oil Painting
Wendy Hawkeswood is mainly an oil painting artist who works with oil on canvas. Wendy is also currently working on acrylic paintings, creating artwork that incorporates trees within a spacious wilderness, which is both colourful and calming, just what we all need during these times. A local artist from Kings Somborne, Stockbridge who welcomes commissions.

TINA PYBUS
Painter
My love of painting started by joining a local art group 20 years ago, and I now tend to paint mainly in acrylics, but also doing some work using acrylic inks and watercolour brushes. Our family has a livestock farm fairly locally which has been my inspiration, and may well be why I have been attracted towards painting my own interpretation of animals, amongst other subjects.
Gabrielle Tait
Painter
I studied fashion design at Saint Martin’s and then worked as a designer in London. After moving around with the Army for many years, Edward and I settled in Broughton in 1994. I started painting for recreation in 2012, mainly in watercolours, but also pen and wash, acrylics, pastels, charcoal and occasionally oils. I like to tackle landscapes, seascapes, buildings and still life. I also keep a ‘Doodle-a-Day’ diary with something topical or how I am feeling.

Classy Glass
Six unique artists working in glass and metal
We are a group of glass enthusiasts who met through workshops and wanted to continue our craft. We meet on a monthly basis, working on individual projects whilst sharing ideas and experience. We cover the range of glass disciplines including leaded and copper foil designs, fusing and glass painting.
We make suncatchers, lampshades, glass panels including inset into wooden boxes, garden ornaments, jewellery and coasters

Peter Mears
Ceramics
Peter creates hand built ceramic objects and tableware, influenced by the way in which light and shadow share the story of material and process. The weight and memory of clay, its ability to hold a mark and carry it out into the world, places the material and process at the heart of the subject.
Ann Parr
Paintings and Wood carvings
Ann Parr was an art teacher when she met her future husband Dr Robert Parr, who established the village history archive. Her work has been donated to the archive, with permission to sell some of it. She continued to paint for many years, with scenes in and around Broughton. She also developed her wood carving skills. There will be a later exhibition in Broughton to show and sell more of her work.

Frances Fox
Mixed Media
I draw, print, stitch, make paper, books.
Photography is often a starting point, but so are interesting materials. I am interested in a sense of place, and the signs of passing time. Things are getting rusty…

Millie Burgess Silky Saluki
Hand designed cards and linen kitchenware
Amelia has been producing one-off cards and designs for some time, largely for friends and family – all bearing her hallmark quirky drawings. She was asked to help re-brand the local Pub in 2018 (The Tally Ho! in Broughton Hants) and the work she did there brought her a larger audience (albeit mostly drinkers in the pub).
Amelia decided to take the plunge in October 2018 and set herself up as a small artisan business designing and producing a small range of cards and tea towels. Success with this initial range at the Salisbury Christmas Market has seen an expansion of her range with adult and child sized aprons which she launched at The Country Living Magazine Fair. Silky Saluki Designs is named after Otta, her part-Saluki dog who is fairly silky…

Philpsy Garden Shed Art
Working in wood
Vic is my name and I love wood !
I have been working with wood since I left school in 1978.
Homemade handmade, household and garden items turned from wood. If it can be made and turned from wood, then I will do it.
Made with love, care and imagination.
Every item is a one off because of the nature of the wood. The wood has the final say and depicts the direction of the Chisel. With a little help from me.
